This Cookie Policy explains how Dean & Waters ("we", "us" or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on the public holding page at www.deanandwaters.com.
The current holding page is deliberately simple. It does not use advertising, marketing or analytics cookies, and it does not use cookies to track you across other websites.
What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small text files that a website may place on your computer, phone or other device. They can help a website function, remember choices, understand how it is used or support advertising.
Similar technologies include local storage, pixels and scripts that store information on, or access information from, your device. This policy uses the word "cookies" to cover cookies and these similar technologies where appropriate.
How the holding page uses cookies
We have designed the holding page so that it can be viewed without non-essential cookies. The background video is served directly from our website and no third-party video player is embedded.
We do not currently use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, social-media tracking pixels or other audience-measurement tools on the holding page.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
payload-theme | Local storage preference | Remembers a light or dark display preference if you have selected one elsewhere on the Dean & Waters website. The holding page can read this preference but does not create it during an ordinary visit. | Until you clear it or change the preference |
In our current testing, the public holding page does not set cookies during an ordinary visit. Essential hosting and security controls may operate at network level without using cookies to profile you.
Why there is no cookie banner
UK rules generally require consent before non-essential cookies or similar technologies are used. Because the current holding page does not use non-essential cookies, there is no consent banner on this version of the page.
If we introduce analytics, advertising or another non-essential technology, we will update this policy and introduce an appropriate consent mechanism before that technology is used.
Links to other websites
The holding page includes links that can open your email application, telephone application or LinkedIn. Selecting the LinkedIn link takes you to a third-party website. LinkedIn may set its own cookies once you visit its service, and its use of those cookies is governed by its own privacy and cookie information.
We do not control cookies placed by third-party websites. We recommend reviewing their policies before making a choice about their cookies.
Managing cookies and browser storage
Browser controls
Most browsers allow you to view, block or delete cookies and clear local storage through their privacy or site-data settings. Blocking all storage may affect how some websites work, although it should not prevent you from viewing the Dean & Waters holding page.
Clearing the display preference
You can remove the payload-theme preference by clearing site data for deanandwaters.com in your browser settings.
Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when the website changes, when our use of technology changes, or when legal and regulatory requirements develop. The effective date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
