With over a decade of experience at sea, Ben brings a hands-on understanding of superyacht operations, having risen through the ranks from deckhand to captain. His most recent role saw him at the helm of one of the industry’s most successful charter yachts, delivering outstanding owner and guest experiences while also managing the vessel’s refits and winter shipyard periods.
Ben’s journey into yachting began with sailing in Chichester Harbour competing in weekly races and classic regattas in the Solent. His early career included restoring classic yachts along the UK’s south coast, before a pivotal move to Italy introduced him to the world of superyachts. Since then, Ben has run both owner and charter programmes across the Mediterranean and Caribbean, with a focus on reliability, compliance and high guest satisfaction.
Now based ashore, Ben joins Dean & Waters as Yacht Operations Manager supporting James Ludden our Fleet Operations Director with practical insight, precise planning and a calm, client-first approach. He works closely with owners, captains and crew to ensure seamless day-to-day management and efficient refit planning, drawing on his experiences from time aboard.
Outside of work, Ben is an active kitesurfer and skier and enjoys sailing, travel and playing the piano. He’s passionate about both the technical and human sides of yachting and brings that balanced approach to every project he takes on.
