Nick Dean

Having amassed an unrivalled level of knowledge from 40+ years immersed in the yachting industry, Nick Dean has extensive experience across sales and purchase, yacht charter, management and new build supervision. His trusted expertise, combined with remarkable insight, have generated a global reputation for excellence.

From a very early age Nick developed a deep love for sailing and, determined to make yachting his career, started out in the British marine industry. Progressing into the global landscape of the large superyacht market he has been involved in the grass-roots growth and evolution of the industry ever since. During his impressive career to date, Nick has actively been a long term board member of the Mediterranean Yacht Brokers Association (MYBA), heavily involved in ground-breaking campaigns, negotiations and contractual restructuring whilst directing the Tax & Law Committee, as a Chairman of the MYBA Charter Committee and founding member of the Leading Yacht Brokers Association (LYBRA).

In 2005 Nick jointly founded the prominent superyacht sales, charter and management company Ocean Independence, where business flourished under his expert guidance for 18 years. Selling his company shareholding in 2022, Nick established Dean and Waters, concentrating his passion to provide a range of bespoke marine services for specialised clientele alongside his accomplished and professional management team. With a goal to safeguard both investment and enjoyment, owners, captains and crew can have access to reliable, revolutionary and tailored onboard solutions that manage every aspect of superyacht operation.
