Richard Moore

Richard brings extensive engineering experience to the team spanning commercial shipping, offshore operations and large yacht programmes, with a career defined by technical depth and hands-on delivery. 

He began with a traditional marine engineering cadetship, gaining sea-going experience across general cargo, bulk and car carriers before moving into the oil and gas sector. Over the following 15 years, Richard worked on platform supply, anchor handling and dive support vessels worldwide and in the North Sea, achieving a Class 1 Unlimited Certificate of Competency and progressing to Chief Engineer on some of the industry’s most advanced offshore vessels.

A move to the Middle East saw Richard take on a senior role with the Royal Yacht Squadron of Oman as Head of Maintenance for a diverse fleet of 25 vessels, from high-performance racing craft to ceremonial and operational assets. He later became Chief Engineer of the Sultan’s 60m Royal Dhow, a technically complex vessel combining traditional wooden construction with a modern diesel-electric propulsion system.

Since transitioning into the superyacht sector, Richard has built extensive experience as Chief Engineer on some of the world’s largest yachts. His expertise covers the full lifecycle of a yacht, from new build and commissioning through to compliance, operations and complex refit projects across multiple international locations.

He brings a calm, methodical approach to engineering management, supported by a detailed understanding of how technical decisions shape performance, reliability and long-term asset value.
